Weight Distribution FAQs

A Weight Distribution (WD) System takes the natural center of the weight off of your trailer hitch and distributes it between the tow vehicle and the trailer wheels.

Rather than merely supporting the trailer tongue weight (TW), Weight Distributing Hitches apply leverage between the towing vehicle and trailer causing the TW to be carried by all axles of both the tow vehicle and the trailer.

What else do I need?

Pole Tongue Adapter - It is used as a mounting platform for the Lift Brackets of a Weight Distributing Hitch System when a trailer has a pole or straight tongue instead of an A-Frame tongue.

Shanks - The Strait-Line kits, both styles of Heavy Duty kits and both Pro Series kits include a shank in the kit. The Tow Beast® and the Light Duty Hitches do not include shanks.
